Ah it's all about the technique.

Gauze catcher in your bucket.

As soon as it releases a quick flick and drop the plug onto the gauze. Not a drop on your hands.

Or gloves...I've heard they work too.

I can't remember the last time I undone a sump plug, I use an air powered vacuum extractor. I've read loads of stuff saying you don't get it all out but the reality is most sumps are thin steel with a threaded boss that sits proud so you can actually get more out with an extractor and even the the aluminium sumps have a raised boss. I was of a similar opinion when I got my first one so I pulled the plug to check and not a drip came out. With modern oils like 5W30 you can do you whole job in a few minutes without getting dirty assuming the oil filter is easy to access.

Only works if the manufacturer thought to include a dip stick as well as the electronic oil level sensor.

I bought Winchboy a set of Aldi Electrical screwdrivers for £5 and they are still going strong after 3 years!

Well if Mr Moose is going to get his tool porn out again, I might as well join in

Don't think you can go wrong with any of the good brands, but I do really like the PB Swiss with the Swissgrip handles.
Far too nice to use day to day for rough work, but they fit fasteners exceptionally well.

Their bits are also excellent.

Wera are great general purpose screwdrivers, used and abused the lasertip and chisel drivers at work, they hold up well - I recently got a set of chiseldrivers to keep at home too.

I also like their Wera Kraftform precision screwdrivers - Wiha make some excellent ones too.

Their Kraftform Kompakt VDE set is a really handy kit if you need to grab something for electrical work, but you don't really know what you are going to end up needing.

The Wiha SlimFix are also excellent VDE screwdrivers albeit obviously more fragile.
The Wiha Microfinish ones are nice heavy duty striking cap screwdrivers, but seriously weighty. I don't really use them much because of this.

Sad to say but after all that, I mainly just use the impact driver - much easier on the hands for most tasks.

This is mobile work on trucks in an already heavy van.

But yeah that's how I do everything at home, although I have a small pump for draining gearbox sumps at work

I absolutely didn't just spend 20 minutes tidying it up for that pic
Trouble is soon as you close the drawer it all ends up heaped at the back anyway. I'd like to shadowfoam it, but its far too expensive and I don't have the space.
Never really found a solution I liked for organisation.

Screwdrivers, not that much in all honesty thesedays - I mainly use an impact where I can.
This has put in thousands and thousands, and its my newer one. Love it.

The SlimFix VDE and Wera VDE set I've used a lot. I do look after them though, and I like to keep them clean.
Got some rough old Richmond ones for doing all the things you aren't supposed to use a screwdriver for. They have held up surprisingly well for cheapy ones actually.

When i got the new compressor in the garage i gave the top of the box and a few drawers a quick blast with a blow gun. Good enough. Mine's all too crammed to be better organized. I need to add another box in.

Have a look at the Ernst screwdriver organizers. They do a few types, their stuff is good. I need to sort out some screwdriver organization too.

I use Wurth "Industry Clean" and all of my tools look like that, I have had a few comments about "New tools" . They cost me a great deal of money and there was a time when I couldn't afford tools, ANY tools so I am grateful for what I've got.
