I bought some Ernst from a chap on here. I’m hooked now!! Really handy in a van / truck setup like mine.

Made by them. Some Williams sockets are (or were) identical tool.

Caterpillar dealer hand tools are often Snap-on too:

Only works if the manufacturer thought to include a dip stick as well as the electronic oil level sensor.

Not true for everything,my V70 doesn't have a dipstick but it does have a port for extracting the oil. Ironically the extraction/service port is where the dipstick would be and in the parts list they show police vehicle specific parts and one of them is a kit to install a dipstick.

Does the wurth stuff strip all the goodness out of the plastics like brake cleaner seems to?

GT85 is the best stuff for cleaning plastic handles of tools in my experience. Even the comfort handles on Snap On ratchets come up like new.

Not true for everything,my V70 doesn't have a dipstick but it does have a port for extracting the oil. Ironically the extraction/service port is where the dipstick would be and in the parts list they show police vehicle specific parts and one of them is a kit to install a dipstick.

It is a dipstick tube, they just don't give you an actual dipstick to go in it.

My car has the same, with just a plug in the top. Then there's a dealer service tool, which is a dipstick with an adjustable scale. And you need to know where to set the scale, and what the reading should be.

Ford do that as well.

It’s the same stick but has numbers on it which corresponds to different models - transit should be between 3 and 4 for example.

In my experience the dipsticks are on the front seats in police cars

BMW used the previous dip stick hole in the block to return oil from the CCV to the sump on the change from M to N series 6 pots.

I’ve yet to find a supplier in France that has the PB Swiss screwdrivers I’m looking for, but I’m driving over to the Jura region on Tuesday with a friend for a couple of days and we’re staying in a village on the border, I may need to sneak across as there are plenty of stockists the other side.

I’m looking for a set of posidrive / Phillips / flat screwdrivers. I have no specific need for any particular size - I’m retired so they’re just for household maintenance plus keeping the Morgan and motorbikes going. Looking at the sets they offer one each of the 4/5 driver sets with the Swissgrip handles they have will be fine.

I couldn't remember what mine are.

Mainly Bost, and some Facom.

Allegedly Bost came from the same foundry as Facom ?

Never damaged any, years of use.

Came from Weldom, or other Brico stores.

I'm in France.

Unmarked one in middle is a flexi jubilee clip screwdriver, I couldn't be without.
