rubbish rear brakes

Sounds to me like you may have air in the system ! Have you tried pumping the peddle 3 sharp times when bleeding ? this help get air out of any bends in your pipes !

what's got me confused though is that when I clamped off all of the rear flexi hoses I still had a long pedal. which is strange as clamping them off would stop the rear brakes from operating.

that's why im scared to fit the larger rear cylinders and get an even longer pedal.

the front discs/pads are a bit worn but that shouldn't be an issue surely.

Hi, If you've isolated the rear brakes and still have a long pedal then that could indicate the problem's at the front.

id bled the front brakes up as id noticed the fluid was looking old and dirty. think I will try clamping the front callipers off 1 at a time and pumping the pedal.

Think the hole system needs bleeding !

Hi, Just a thought, check the pipework to see how it's all plumbed in. Instead of being front rear split it may be a diagonal split, or it might be one front one rear axle, the fact you have a dual circuit load sensing valve could indicate that.
