This shed and fence stuff really doesn't give the same satisfaction as creosote 
At the end of the day you can't sit with a beer and smell it. Nor for months afterwards and in subsequent years when the strong sun hits it and you catch a faint whiff.
The LHS has now had a second coat just now. It just doesn't cover the first like you'd hope. What I've found is to slap it on really thick to the point of getting the odd run and don't brush it out too much. I guess you're trying to "sit" it on top as a later. It also doesn't stop the wood from really drying out. The oiliness of creosote / engine oil seems to keep wood flexible.
