I have got to try and sort out some teak on a sea boat, there is one external piece about 10yrs old that I presume was originally oiled (?) and probably not treated since.
It just looks dull/dry, it's not started rotting yet.
There are also several bits in the cabin that are water stained / dull / dry.
I am thinking of giving them all a scrub off with some wire wool and sugar soap before treating.
I have a bottle of teak oil but it must be 15yrs old+
Should I just buy a new bottle of that or is it likely to be ok? Looks fine (but I dont remember what it looked like when it was new)
I am planning to treat the external part with a few coats of the teak oil.
The cabin smells like a boat, fuel sort of smell. I was wondering if a beaswax/paraffin mix might be better to treat that with or should I use teak oil on that as well and get an air freshener?
Or should I be doing it another way?
