Think your advise should be to tell them to prop it asap to avoid anything very big and messy. Unless they're hoping for an insurance job!
Also don't think a SE will help all that much with repair unless very specialised. They're more likely to just tell you what you already know - that they aren't for for purpose and need to be replaced. They might be able to assist with what to replace them with that will be structurally sound and hopefully fit in with the listed status.
