Wouldn't work in Swansea. The council have people going around rummaging through people's bins. Then they threaten to fine people It's a disgrace and I suspect their budget needs cutting if they have the manpower to spare.I just put everything in the bin for that week then if it’s a green one put a good layer of newspaper/cans/whatever is that weeks thing on the top.

Realistically Amazon will use experienced contractors and abide by all the local planning rules.
Companies of that size do things by the book.

There a 4mw shortfall I’m their use so they use something else for that. Not sure. Can’t remember.

I doubt Amazon would go cheap on the installations, it costs them an utter fortune when one fails.
I suppose they get subsidies for their solar uptime, and bad publicity as a promoter of green energy.

Most of the solar fires are caused by water ingress into things like DC isolators or crap connections causing arcing, look at page 24 onwards
The MC4 connectors used on solar panels are crimped, not the best crimp type in my opinion. OK if done properly but easy to get wrong. These are the ones.
On the water ingress side, a lot of the inverters and isolators are IP65, so theoretically can be installed outside in a sheltered location. But bad installation can ruin that rating. That's why I'm installing them in an outside shed. Firstly, keeps them dry, secondly, if there is a fault and it goes up, its 15m from the house.
Where I work we have a huge warehouse, the roof has been covered in PV for quite a few years, never had an issue. I know the guy who runs the place, he retired last week. He doesn't employ numpties, they are off site in minutes.
