removing sikaflex from skin

At the last house I removed half a dozen Leylandii (Sp?) that had been allowed to reach 40 ft. The felling was simple enough, but splitting and handling the evil stuff left my hands coated in sap that resisted all efforts at removal - until in desperation I tried neat bleach. This loosened it enough, that when followed by neat washing up liquid and heavy scrubbing, i was able to remove the vast majority. i can't say it did my skin any favours, but the alternative was having hands that just wanted to stick to everything!

I use this Loctite SF 7850. As well as normal, everyday dirt grease, Its brilliant for getting silicone, paints, etc off your hands. It has a fine grit in it that almost rolls the stuff off your skin.

Foam gun cleaner is acetone. Screwfix, Toolstation etc.

Nail polish remover is acetone. SWMBO, the chemist etc.

Solopol Classic hand cleaner, uses crushed walnut shells I think. Worth a try. Best hand cleaner I have ever used. Kin expensive.

C-tec Multisolve... maybe.

Sticky stuff remover. Screwfix do one...maybe

WD40...maybe?

I've always used petrol to get stuff like that off my hands (and other surfaces) obv with those PU adhesives and the like better to do so before its set !

so, my father in his infinite wisdon has somehow managed to cover his hand with sikaflex...i dont know how, but thats never stopped him.

so, suggestions for removal? he has tried isopropyl, various paint thinners and good old fashioned soap...nothings moving it

Acetone works on it but not when it's cured and in any case can wash the product deeper into the skin. I would just leave it cure and it'll peel off in time due to skin oil and skin turnover. Tell him to buy a box of disposable gloves lol .
