An ex neighbour of mine was a religious enthusiast and one day I had some JWs call so I sent them next door. My neighbour invited them in and they were there for well over an hour. They never came back though.

I used to give regularly to Cancer Research monthly, but then I did some reading and found out they get approx £600,000,000 a year in income and STILL don’t have any sort of a cure for cancer.

There are also a whole bunch of anomalies and abnormalities in the way their books are run, can’t remember th details now, so I stopped donating.

I don't give to big charities, especially if they cold call or have plush corporate headquarters in London. I do support local charity shops (hospice and animal rescue) though.

Its hard to know, watching things like bake off (well the women do, i cannot stand that scruff bag russell brand), you do wonder where the money goes, and does it actually go into research.

Had a JW at the gate one day ask if she could pet my dog, I said no he bites, she replied "oh he won't bite me for I bring the good word" and stuck her hand out. Yeah it turns out he will.

I was working at a job and the god squad were tapping on doors. half a dozen vans radio going swearing needless to say they detoured round us. one tapped on my door and had some leaflets I said you don't think you can get me to convert do you .with everything that's happened to me and my family the only thing I believe in is your going to die and the only better place is in the ground she soon left

I support smaller local charities when I get the chance but I avoid most larger ones as they tend to spend too much on non-core expenses (nice city centre offices, posh shop refurbishments, managent costs, etc). RNLI and Shelter are top of my naughty list due to their policies (not a topic for this forum ).
The handy website lists charities and shows what % of donations they spend on cause, also directors salaries etc http://www.charitychecker.net/search/

Very late one night, not long moved in, about 10 years back, I was messing in the shed and the wife storms in with a foreboding look and says there's people at the door and it must be for you or your stupid mates, says nothing else and storms off.
2 working ladies stood there with a non working wxxxxxxr in a car, I explain I have not placed an order and got a bit of argy bargy but it was clear it was a mistake and not mine! Straight up and none of my mates ever admitted to it as a prank.

Although their english was a bit dodgy, it was at least crystal that it would not be for charity.

When our Retriever had a litter we were going to keep one. However this stupid women kept pestering and my missus was emotionally blackmailed into allowing her to have it. It was a big beautiful bitch. We were worried about it and then we got a request for the Pedigree (we wouldnt let the woman have it) from a business. Turns out she had sold her to a puppy farm. My missus went and basically broke in and found her but someone threw her out. She tried to get the RSPCA involved but they didnt want to know and the Kennel Club issued them with a Pedigree.

We’ve owned our 3 bed semi in West mids since 2006 and it appears to have gone up hardly 10% in value.

And I’ve even added my glorious hand built garage.....
