The sales man in my local shop sells jasic among other makes. But he tells me the jasic 200pfc will burn 4mm rods on a 13amp plug
Iv been off topic my whole lifeAbout time I recommended a welder, instead of just constsntly being "off topic"!
The IFL inverters that look like this are very robust.
I got an AC/DC tig version of the same-shaped unit from WeldEquip, back in '06 - still going strong and welds beautifully on ARC.
On the strength of that alone, I'd probably consider one the same for use on a farm, but the MMA version.
Like these.
All the Best,
CJ

You are not alone on that oneOff-topic again, here - But I thought (when I was younger, obviously!), that Tipperary only existed in a song, called "It's a Long way"
A sheltered up-bringing!

I know where there's about 7 or 8 of them sitting in a container, trying to convince the owner to sell me one but it's a battle.
I've a thermal arc 175 se for a few years now and couldn't fault it, it's small and light so easy to bring to the job if you can't bring the job to you. Runs 3.2 rods all day long. Ideal welder for around the farm

After looking over other forums the general idea I get is that kemppi frounis ewm lorch are the brands to look for.
What kinda money would they be cheersI have the privilege of owning a Fronius Transpocket 180. Having used old oil-filled units, and various inverters, it’s possible to see why it has a very good reputation. Simplicity in use, but with lots of clever features that work unobtrusively in the background, there’s very little MMA work you couldn’t undertake with it.
It’s certainly an investment; but one you’re unlikely to regret, or have to repeat.
Good luck in choosing
Michael

Oil cooled are good machines for workshop use there not really meant for Mobility they just sit in the corner on long leads, they Are a bit heavy on power and they only have stepped current adjustments maybe 15 amp increments on the bantams and 5 amp on the giant, most of them are made by pickhill or oxford. Not the best welder for running lo Hydrogen, but general fabrication on 6013 a nice plant, nice and quiet not affected by dust.
Technically what you wrote is good. The oil cooled plants are a.c only they won't burn lo hys that well you need DC. I think there are lo hys for a.c plants out there . Correct me if I'm wrong lads
I was looking at an esab 251c origo mig are these good
Is it possible to get a decent oil cooled welder these days, last one I had came from the UK,As regards longevity iv my thermal arc about 7-8 years has fell off a wall a bench iv kicked it by accident and it’s never faulted me . In work all my gear is 3phase kemppi except about old sip that gathers dust unless we need separate wire feed .
Running 3.2 6013 doing repairs you won’t be able to tell the difference in a kemppi and a thermal arc realistically iv run loads of welders makes and types inverter oil cooled buzz box . If it’s sitting in a workshop all the time as already said oil cooled be grand quite and a workhorse but that one time you need it outside the workshop will make you want an inverter. if it was me I’d go inverter 160amp plus but look more at who your local supplier is and if you deal with them a lot
