It is a Mandarins flottant
Or a floating holder for a reamer, floats both axially and radially.

what is it?
Used both sets in lathe and drill, they are both about the same loose fit, useful only for clearance holes.
It’s the tolerances held in their manufactureWell a decent set would be nice but I can think of better ways to spend £200. I do have a decent 9.97mm which is dead on size however, its a hand reamer with a long taper, no good in the blind holes I'd likely want to use on.
I dont see why they are so expensive, cant be that more involved than a drill to grind?!
A reamed hole, should be more round than a drilled one, so I use these for clearance holes and where suitable before tapping.
Looks like the shank has a better grind than the flutes! So they arrived:
Packed to ensure optimum cutting face to face contact during shipping..

Looks a bit Friday afternoon on the grind job, missed the flute entirely at the shank end...

I would. Otherwise amazon will just keep peddling crapThey are fulfilled by amazon, so I think they will be going back, can't think of much else to do with them.
I haven't tried them yet, I don't think there is much point even at just under a pound each.
