I’m fairly confident that I’ll see a nice finish on the upper part of the panel because the reflection of the Hoover is quite clear.
I started off with fan and fluid wide open as someone suggested. I got almost a split spray pattern as shown in the first photo. Then I set fan to 1/2 turn open and fluid to 3 turns open. Found some uneven pitted paint in places so I opened the fluid up to 4 turns. Bottom of panel is sprayed with 4 turns out. Super smooth. We could guess all night. Lets see your spray pattern with a 1.2-1.5
2 coats. How many coats was this?
800. I’d used guide coat but I was lightly scuffing the paper in some areas as I kept cutting through my primer. put some old cellulose over it. All the thickness in the paint must have deposited in the bottom of the can as I felt it there when mixing it up. The coverage was awful. I then bought some UPOL P88. Brilliant coverage. And brilliant coverage with PRO XL Pro Build super build primer. I should have used a block for sanding but I thought, well if I can get the edge of the area guide coat flatted without a block then it will be ok. The surface should be flat anyway. Wrong! Bloody primer. What grit paper did you prep that with? Base coat will need a minimum of 1000grit before it goes on and the surface needs to be perfect as it will show every little defect.
Bottom of panel is super smooth like roof.
