while running yes but not on an insulation test
I haven't read the full thread.
My bad.

while running yes but not on an insulation test
here https://www.test-meter.co.uk/blog/18th-edition-new-requirements-for-nuisance-rcd-tripping/ . I have a clap meter that measures milliamps and use it if I cant determine earth leakage with the megger
I have a clap meter
MCB: That's the Main Circuit Breaker, right?? If that was turned off does that not isolate everything???Have you tried this with all the MCB's turned off Except the circuit you are running the inverter on.
Will try that and see.@brightspark I want one of these "clap" meters, where do they come from? Are they anything to do with the NHS clapping on Thursdays?
Or is it for STD's?
On a serious note, we have a fair bit of trouble on site with the lift engineers inverter controlled motors tripping out site supplies and we have 100ma (minimum) time delayed RCD's.
It might be worth splitting the workshop onto a separate feed on it's own RCD to reduce the earth leakage through your house one.
Try turning everything in the house off and pulling the fuses then try the inverter in the workshop, if it works ok then I'd say it's just a build up of fault current.

what he is saying knock all the mcb off on the other circuits and just leave the one feeding your inverter and mainswitch on it may partly eliminate other build up of leakage connected and runningMCB: That's the Main Circuit Breaker, right??
