Headlamp glass off, some kind of horrible glue on there so I cooked it off by pouring kerosene into the crack and heating it. Worked an absolute treat.

High and low beam? Why not…

I’ll be modifying the reflector to fit a halogen globe. Couldn’t find any black paint so I went with red.

Done. I need to go around and tidy a few things up like cabling and so forth, and re-fit the toolbox which involves unhooking the ht lead, an added faff.

But hey! High and low beam. The reflector is quite worn so it’s not as powerful as it should be, but it works. On the left is the main headlight switch, and next to it the hi/lo selector. The last one I want to be a kill switch to earth the mag. Today was all about fixing and modifications, tomorrow the tractor is going back to work hauling the sled.

I reckon @Robotstar5 is onto it with a tail light though I did wonder about hazards… or a beacon. Tbh I only put the light on for fun, I don’t intend on operating it in the hours of darkness, just driving back to the shed of an evening it’s great to have it all working - I hate electrics, but I’m pleased to see it’s all working.

I was talking to a guy about it and he’s offered me two Howard rotary hoes with JAP engines. Now to work out where to hide them…

Oh and the bearing prices came back. If anyone has an RL10 and an RL11 that don’t cost the earth I’d like to buy them please!

There cheapo non-SKEFCO bearings available. But I know that you wouldn't want to use them.
