if the older towers are still working they can be used for something else
as goes for older im still using ddr2 and ddr3, athlon x2 cpu and 6core 939 cpu
im also still using windows 7 , removed windows 10 from another pc and installed linux zorin onto it older systems still have a use depending on your usages they are also faster with an ssd installed into them
as i dont like windows 10 or 11 and microsoft can shove them where the sun dosnt shine as i refuse to use them

I have 10 of these. Not sure how many are working but most are decent makes.
I was going to rob the power supplies from them. Is there anything else useful there?

I've made plenty of things from the cases, especially the old ones which were much thicker steel.
None of those interest me!
I still need the SATA power lead to use it fully though?

Ok now i have a weird problem.
I had a motherboard fitted and an SSD plus a couple of Hard disks.
I then installed a new Mobo and an m 2.0 stick. I installed Windows 11 and all went well.
I need to take a working image so I have a quick reinstall if I need one.
I put the SSD back in and it shows up in bios and Windows Explorer but i just cant get the system to boot from it.
What am I doing wrong?

From my recent experience setting up a new desktop I'm not surprised that the new motherboard won't play ball. I've been installing Linux on an Asus mobo ( I didnt want w11). Tried ubuntu first as I've put that on two laptops, wouldnt even start the installer. Got fedora running, but the nvidia driver doesnt play nicely with the kernel, so have put cachyos on. Works nicely. For the two distros that will install, different boot settings (uefi or legacy) were needed.

as goes for hard drive costs i saved this the other day as the 4tb used to be 90.00 brand new prices
hard drives have a made date on them even in the hard drives data systems and the prices below means the companys are transfering the new prices onto customers whilst selling old stock in there warehouses

Well my grandsons pc stopped booting padt the press F2 or delete key to enter bios. Seems like the SSD is stopping it going any further or responding to keys.
It was the last thing i took out to test. Lol
A new one was 50 quid more than the last one so I ended up with another 500gig.
Goodnews is the old one is under warranty so hopefully i get a spare. But taking into account the warranty starts before its even fitted. I need to start using it. Lol
