Took the defender for MOT today (it failed but not on much at all)
But...
The drive there had it into the red on the gauge. 300tdi, but no airlock and heater blowing hot.
It's going to mostly be the lack of fins on the radiator (large areas with no fins at all!)
I've already ordered a new radiator, but figured I'd do a few flushes before taking the old one out (to clean up the ways in the engine etc)
Are any of these potions any better than any others?
Note - I can't even find dishwasher tablets to clean plates properly at present, so I'm not convinced by that plan. And I'd like not to pour some unknown stuff that eats alloy in there either. That would seem a poor choice.
My fail sheet on the 110 that's been off the road since 2015 (and never tested in my ownership) was -
1)Seatbelts too manky (fair enough, there's some green stuff growing on them!)
2)Small thumb sized hole in the chasiss that I'd missed.
3)Side repeater bulb (it won't even be the bulb as I'd tested it all, it will be a poor contact in the holder)
I was never expecting a pass, so I'm pretty pleased with that.
But, still, I need to resolve the overheating. At present the water is brown.
