I was fed up of doing bodywork so made a start on mounting the new fuel tank. Got the box folded up and then cut the floor out to suit. A bit of strengthening, some brackets underneath and it’s in.
A few more pipes, some electrics and a little bracket to mount the fpr and it can all be stripped out for paint

It was up and running, but then stripped back down for paint.
Inside painted today, will try to get some lacquer on tomorrow or Tuesday so I can refit the inside and getting it running and driving again
trying to spray in there wasn’t much fun, always a bit of the cage exactly where you wanted to get the gun and trying to see what’s been painted and what was missed wasn’t easy

If it was the outside that was exposed and it really mattered I would do, but it’s a race car and it’s only the inside
It’s finally starting to look like a car again. The door is painted as well, once that’s dried I’ll fit it. A few runs on the front wing that I’ll try a nib file on otherwise I will have to rub it down

we missed your birthday
Start of the season tomorrow for me at Brands Hatch, so it’s had a freshen up. Certainly not a straight out the gun finish, I’ve spent longer with paper since it was painted than I did getting ready for paint!!
It finished last season blowing a head gasket, other than replacing that the only other work had been the additional of an oil cooler
