Well DC tig in general isn't really a tool for thick heavy Fabricating (it will do it but there are much better process)What thickness steel would this welder be capable of?
160 amps on DC is suitable for welding 5,6 MM steel and stainless with nice levels of fusion and penetration but as the welder has mma capabilities too you are able to go thicker and heavier than that with a pack of 3.2's. Now AC current that can feel limiting when you've got a thick lump of Alu sucking your heat away and your struggling to even crack through the oxide layer.
