A while back I was storing some belongings for a colleague & his wife in our loft while a house move was in progress. Time goes on, the stuff was never collected & he unfortunately popped his clogs. Because of the event, I left it a good while & contacted his wife to clear the stuff. Amongst this was 2 books, an illustrated copy of the Karma Sutra and a copy of Asian Erotic art, both expensive hardback books. Wife comes over with new boyfriend & I start passing stuff over & she says quietly “can you get rid of the books” there was no way I was going to take them into a local charity shop, but we were off to the Lake District so wrapped them up well & went to drop them off at a charity shop in Penrith. In the shop we’re 2 old dears, well into the eighties I reckon, just passed them over, got a “thank you love, always after books” & off we went, rather quickly before they unwrapped them. As I walked away, my wife said “those two will have a heart attack when they open them” with that an ambulance shot up the road, but luckily went straight past. Maybe they took them home to spice up their lifeI've just been amused at some of the other lots - several lots of "adult DVDs" - one lot included the "classic Debbie does" according to the listing. Selling for what looked like around a quid a DVD . . . every time I've been, collections and payments have been handled by the ladies there . . .
