BoS - Brains on Sticks!
I have the entry level R-Tech plasma cutter (P30C) should be good for 12mm (although not a clean cut). It is set up on my home made CNC table (needs a few tweaks but getting there) and I was attempting to cut 6mm steel plate.
I end up with it not cutting through and a lot of slag on the top of the plate that catches the torch. It is at maximum current a speed of 400mm/min and 70psi on the air. I know I have an air leak and I need to replace the hose (but I have to replace the lot which is £100) but needs replacing for other reasons now (the plastic top of the torch appears to have snapped when it snagged on this wretched slag!)
Probably all schoolboy errors. With other cuts, the slag is on the rear, so the top stays clean.
What should I change first (apart from my brain probably!) For example, what height should the torch tip be above the table?
Cheers
Peter
