I have a full Air Products Integra pure argon bottle for my TIG welder which is hunky dory but can Pure Argon be used on a MIG welder fusing mild steel????
Don't use it on any parts that are going to be under any sort of stress, are load bearing etc etc. The fusion/penetration, particularly on thicker material is no where near sufficient
Guys,
I'm confused! The original question was whether pure argon was good for TIG; then MIG seemed to creep in. I checked Air Products website and they recommend Pure Argon for TIG'ing mild steel; Ferromaxx 7 for MIG'ing.
So my confusion; does argon give problems with 'caterpillaring' with TIG on MS or only with MIG ? I run my MIG on Ferromaxx7; can I use that on the TIG when working steel? Help!!
