Hello from South Manchester!

I'm a newbie to the forum but was directed to your thread by another member. So glad I've seen it. I'm also a member of the TalbotOC forum and I thought it's about time that I learned how to weld.

We are kind of mad and currently own 3 Talbots. One G reg Talbot Express Camelot (called Gweniviere of Camelot of course), one 2.5 TD (G reg) and one NA diesel (C reg- 40 this year!), so I have a lot to do when I'm feeling a bit more confident! Our nearside rear sills have also gone, so those pictures look very familiar

Brilliant - very well done . Your welding looked very neat as well - I wish my efforts were anything like as decent.

I have a crunchy jacking point & bubbling paint on a Sill section on my Renault Master Camper conversion that will have to be tackled before November MoT time.
I need to get some of the Jotamastic epoxy paint or whatever it is & some sort of cavity protection stuff (can you tell I don't have a clue what I need ?) - & get the grinder out. Putting it off with so many other things to do.... but time is rushing by!

nice! looked at a couple of them before getting the talbot

i personally use bilt hamber stuff if you're looking for a recommendation, the dynax s50 for cavities, hydrate 80 for rust conversion and ive just started using their seam sealer, its really good stuff!

fingers crossed you don't come across any additional rust!

Well done mate. That's a fantastic job. You deserve to enjoy it after all the effort. Shame about the clutch cable but I'm sure it'll not be the last issue but that's all part of the adventure eh.

very nice, think a welder will be your most valuable tool especially with having 3 of them have any pics?

I would be lost without this forum, it's been invaluable for learning how to weld. and owt else, if nobody on this forum knows then it's not worth knowing!

Sure do! These are the 3 vans. The two motorhomes are NA Diesel (smaller one) and the 2.5 TD (larger one). The camper is 2.0 petrol. We have lots of work to do! I'm just getting to grips with the welding, so it'll take a while for me to be confident to try cutting away metal. I'm just glad I'm so close to Simon at customcampers, he's only a 20 minute drive away!

very nice I think owning a welder and these talbots goes hand in hand unless you want to spend lots of money

You'll not be short of owt to practice on anyway

plastic handle on the window crank broke so made this 'temporary' solution

also added some spot lamps because why not!
