cheers! yes glad you mentioned the purple stripes! I really don't like them either
much prefer the original burgundy stripes underneath but unfortunately the mrs really likes them....thankfully they're only stuck on so some 'strong winds' might start peeling them off

Yours though being far less "bungalow on wheels" should be rather lesser painful - but I'd still not advise a heavy right foot!
I ran a year 2000 LDV Convoy campervan for 11-years, and a lot of similarities (& "agricultural" build) and character shared with the Talbot (after all the Convoy was "designed" in pre-history, based on the Sherpa, which itself evolved from an even older van).
Basic, decidedly analogue in a digital age - the Convoy had a certain quirky character that made me irrationally fond of the rattly old crate, and I was genuinely sorry to send it off to the scrapper.
My 2008 Renault Master replacement is much nicer to drive and more refined, and really better in every way - but the additional complexity is a concern compared to the rugged simplicity of the old LDV.

Getting harder to get bits for Convoys steadily as they've been kaput for 20-years just about. Also post 2001 ones used the Duratorq (aka Duraturd) engine instead of my ones venerable 2.5di - a chunk more prod, but ECU's and associated issues that gives you a 50-year-old design but with modern age problems - arguably the worst of both worlds.I love those old LDVs, would happily have got one of those in camper form too! But yeah with it being the rambler/van it shouldn't be too bad! It'll no doubt be better than it was with an extra cylinder firing and a rebuilt head with none leaking exhaust manifold
so had to joint one using some scrap metal tubing i had lying about which happened to be the perfect diameter, result!
That's a really good point. I did spend 20 or so mins flushing the heater matrix but it never went clear so it could be clogged up like you say!
i'll give that a go first, i've seen one on ebay but apparently there's four different types fitted....
