Procedure for spary painting old plastic bumpers ..

trouble is ive found the vw bumpers arent jet black so as the dye wears off it looks rank

isnt the linseed doing it anymore? its the best ive found as it ages evenly

rattle cans will blaken it , but tends to chip off on the front and will fade fairly fast as theres not much uv protection in it , you could just clean em up and be pepared to dust em over every year , light coats are best

Linseed ok but just sick of it and though someone mite have some magic I can spray on and forget

Mite give this plastidip a shot spary on rubber stuff..

no ..i would leave it as a last resort really

if you ever get the chance of someone giving em a go with 2k then that would last better , otherwise it will be chips and peeling to deal with instead

heating plastics up with a hot air gun restores the colour but it has to be done evenly

hit them with a gas gun...makes them shiny black again

Same as peanut butter smooth not chunky , done them all over the years .

I had good results on very faded black bumpers and trim with a product called Forever Black. It is a dye though so you need to mask off the trim before using it.

I did my Nissan bumper and my daughter's old Corsa B with the B&D hot air stripper and I melted and re-textured some scratches out of the Nissan bumper as well. It lasts as well and makes them look standard not like paints or silicone treatments.
