Hi all,
This is my first post. I signed up so I could ask you guys some advice as I've seen some very helpful threads on here.
A friend has asked me to take a look at his Pro 90-MIG. The problem is that the feed motor is not kicking in when activated. There is just a low hum. I have been able so far to ascertain that the machine is getting voltage up to the solder joints in the below picture taken from a post by

I have also been able to ascertain that the feed motor is working by giving it an independent power supply to test.
I thought the problem might be the relay as there is a lot of sparking happening when the feed is activated so I opened it up and carefully cleaned it with an emery cloth but the problem persists.
Perhaps the voltage reaching the relay is too low ?
I'm afraid I'm far from an electronics expert but I do have some experience building circuits with micro controllers etc. I don't normally work with higher voltage equipment.
Any advice or help would be very much appreciated. I would really like to get to the bottom of this one.
Thank You.
