u have to understand that we are fostering 6 new born puppies that were dumped beside the Auto Route...now 5 weeks old....hence the new mop heads.......

should have bought her the industrial one like my wifeys. tank holds a gallon of water and you can get done quicker and they can get on to the next job

to be fair 1 year about 9 years ago we had just moved in to a property and the washing mechine broke down
so as a good otherhalf i went and bought a new washing mechine off the shelf currys
came home put it in the middle of the kitchen and as a joke put happy xmas on it
the kids still remind me about it now years later when we speak about xmas pressents

Years ago I made a small miistake and bought my now ex-wife a pepper grinder for her birthday.
In fairness I was rushed off my feet working anything up to 18 hours a day, and sometimes the full overnighter, studying for an mba while also coping with an 18 month old daughter, and as I carefully explained, it wasn't jjust any old pepper grinder, it was a full-on Peugot designed and manufactured grinder (who knew they made pepper grinders before they ventured into cars and small bikes?) On top of that it has an adjustable grind feature so you can have your peppper coarse ground or fine and it stands around 18 inches high so you don't run out quickly. Throughout the duration of our marriage it was mentioned every year when her birthday approached. Some years on and both my daughters are now at uni and I'm older and poorer BUT in pride of place in my kitchen sits a rather splendid (to my eye) large pepper grinder...
Moral of the story - before buying your other half a present, try asking her what she would like and don't make the mistake of beleiving her when she says "oh anything will do"

Bought the Wife a chain saw for Christmas. 10" bar, battery drive.
After wearing 5 or 6 saws out over around 35 years, guess which one I use to put the smallest ever nick in a knuckle joint? So little I did not know I did anything until I had blood running everywhere. Asked the Wife why She was not crying when I got hurt like She used to do? She said I have done it too many times.

Can see where most went wrong, bought a present the first year, raising expectations
We just buy what we want and say, "You got me this". Seems to work. With the banking app on both our phones it's easy to see what is going in and out of the account.

My Mrs always says just get me stuff I need, slippers new wellies etc, then surpries me with something Im not expecting. So I have learnt to make an effort and buy her something shed not buy herself too!
My current quest is a matching set of tureens and large meat plate. As its mentioned ever Christmas when her grannies old mismatched set comes out.

Erm...this may be one of those times you think she's saying she wants something but likely not for Christmas.
