I'm reserecting this old thread as I'm after some kind of slave socket to switch on my vacuum when I start the mitre saw up, the links above are dead now so has anyone found something that works?
I don't want to spend too much as it's only for DIY use.

I've got an old Eon powerdown plug your are welcome to, it wasn't ever used that long but hasn't been used for years, no idea on its power ratings but let me know if your interested and I'l test it to check it still works.

Where did you find that, it looks exactly the same as the missing link CPC one?

Edit: Except the CPC one is not branded SMJ

I've just received it and it works perfectly! The vacuum comes on the instant the saw starts and goes off about 5 seconds after.
It's probably not designed for a 3kw inductive load but the old Henry is only 630 watt so hopefully it'll be fine.
Cost was £9 off eballs!
