I've a Portamig 185 and have been having wire feed issues for some time, I've changed the liners (twice), checked the rollers, tightened/loosened the tension on the rollers, then put in new ones, even straightened slightly the bend at the top of the torch but there is still a resistance on the wire going through, enough for it to stall on every rotation of the rollers, ruining the feed of the wire and the weld. The only thing that stops it is to line the 3mt of the torch in a straight line, even then there is a bit of resistance in the wire. As soon as the feeder tube isn't straight the problem is there. I've tried to feed the wire (.8) through the liner (blue) on it's own and the resistance comes in as soon as it moves from straight. Is it possible I have the wrong liner or has anyone any suggestions? I am really happy with the machine to produce better a better weld finish than I ever thought I could possibly produce, but this is frustrating, all advice gratefully received.
