To be devils advocate, a Porsche has never dumped anyone in a ditch and the idea is not unsound.Not sure if Monet was about when that was sold. Monte Carlo? Liked it , but like many mid engined cars, the limits get a bit close...Nice corner, or in the ditch. Back to Porsche products, not unknown to dump you in the ditch, before electronics tamed them. Basicly an unsound idea, like the Beetle, with a pretty undeserved rep for reliability.
Its the weakest link in the drivers seat who dumped it in a ditch because they didn‘t understand the chassis dynamics of having a lump of weight at the other end of the car and tried to drive it like a front engined car is where the problem lay.
If they were so unstable why have they held the record for the fastest car around the Nurburgring for practically as long as I can remember.
