i was on a callout one night and passed a motorcycle shop that had been broken in to and guess what . plod was also looting the shop putting goods in to his car he wasnt amused as id slowed down and tooted my horn . bet he had nicked some fags while he was there blame the intruder

You can slate the way the police are run but couldn't knock our PC's, I reckon 99% are sound.There will always be the odd bad egg but by and large they do very well considering they have to run with their bootlaces tied together.

Correct @8ob.... A policeman or woman has to abide by every law going to there job properly - where a criminal does not need to abide to any.

We live in an over PC world - which makes a Policemans (persons) - lot a difficult one!

Just had many interactions with Gloucestershire's finest. All polite and respectful start to finish and were given all the assistance they needed. Even the "film stars" were great. Statement was given to someone that was friendly, professional and efficient. No criticism of any of them, although Plastic Plod closing the road was apparently a bit officious and refused access even to residents before the incident site. That is second hand info though.

i would have to disagree. ive had multiple contacts with the police that i would absolutely describe as positive. they've solved many a problem for me, for instance given me a lift home when im broken down in a layby so i can go get the towcar and trailer. but then, im not the kind of person that they need to feel the collar of.

My 6 yr old daugther wanted to go and post a letter for me , post box is 230 yards away but slightly out of sight of the entry to my drive. for the last 40 yards I watched her all the way down thehill , expecting her to be back in view in 20 to 25 seconds .

She did not appear , I called my wife to bring me my crutches and crutched it down to the post box , our daughter was nowhere insight .

I can tell you that a thousand horrible events flashed through my head . I limped into the local pub asked if anyone had seen her then totally went jelly sobbing and struggling to say my words . The barmaid phoned the police .the customers formed search parties of threes & fours .
Before I'd fully regained control two unmarked cars were by my house and several marked cars arrived and started a door to door enquiry .

I was called over by a police officer about ten minutes later who told me my kiddy was safe & sound at home.
Where the hell she had been or what she was doing I still don't know some 13 years later . The police could not have been better , and gracefully bowed out when I was dropped off by them back at home .

Another time my lass on a very frosty day dropped me off for night school then went on to take Munchkin to flautists music class , on the way back home the car had a massive instant tyre failure when some steel ripped the tyre open , stuck on a dual carriage way in the middle of nowhere tight up against a mile of crash barrier she called the police & The RAC .
The police set up a vehicle doing safety back stop for almost an hour & a half till the RAC arrived . When they found out I was at the night school they tried contacting the caretaker who had locked up the school , my phone had no signal a community policeman arrived to collect me , taking unpaid time to bring me to my home , help me inside and get a hot drink inside me as I was just about flaked with diabetes .

They left and about an hour later Alison came home with the temp spare wheel fitted to the car .

Some times you have to ignore all the negatives you hear from certain people , they never or rarely ever look for the good side in life especially if their feel they have been a victims for some minor event .

Yes I've had a run in with the law a couple of times & got a few words of wisdom from the copper concerned but I haven't let it cloud my life .
