@knighty , those Ts do look perfect I may order some as a back up and leave them in the cupboard ready , do they do similar in copper ? no it s not underfloor by the way , just a cupboard right next to the parkray , pipes get very very hot obviously .

I looked for copper, couldn't see any, I'm sure there will be some somewhere

don;t worry about the high temps tho, I use the same fittings at work at 90'C

plastic pipe is a bit rubbish at high temperature, but the fittings are fine :-)

trawled through 35 pages off 134 just on T fittings, although I put sizes in you seem to get every fitting they list randomly . thanks for your help, appreciated.

ordered new olives, peglar valves etc from srcewfix, so should see if patching the manifold works when they are delivered.....or start again !

Update , bought a plastic 4way manifold , renewed the tails on that so they were all 10mm to manifold , fitted one standard valve as the pipe that comes from parkray has grown together so rather than risk needing new parkray used the old pipe and olives..on the other I put the peglar valve , all seems ok except the tiniest of weeps from replacement valve old olives, anyways fired the parkray and let it warm , radiators all have flow so just take time to get the heat built up .......fingers crossed the other old manifold holds out , although have ordered a replacement to have in hand . cheers for the advice everyone

So...back to the plumbing before the cold weather gets here, managed to get a decent manifold to replace remaining old one , ordered all the 3/4bsp to 22mm fitting etc , looking at fitting inline 10mm ball valves in each radiator line , theory being I could balance the flow some what , but all the ones I look at state gas not water , will these be ok ,presuming yes as gas tight but maybes I am missing something ?

Don't do that, if you want to balance the rads use lockshield valves, designed for the job.

Inline 10mm ball valves will leak and not really do what you want

most of those are siezed and rather than look for trouble I thought I would put some inline, but so far cant find any inline 10mmx10mm.

bite the bullet drain the system and replace them. it gets rid of the sludge out of the rad at the same time

, think I will get this second manifold finished first , various connectors on order , old manifold off rotten as a pear.

Well finished re tailing and fitted the replacement manifold , so now back to trying to sort the lockshield valve/replacement radiator , but all rather confusing on thead sizes needed , the two pipes to the original rad only just clear the wall, so no spare room to cut off , both are 8mm pipe , but it seems the connector on the end, female with olive on pipe appears to be 1/4 bsp , thread is 13.1mm measured on tap end , fine thread (not metric ) about 19tpi, so it seems I probably need a 1/4 bsp adapter to what ever size the new lockshields need , most seem to be 15mm.
now as long as I can get those adapters I can re tail to suit .
then my question is , the old rad had dual entry one end , should I refit similar or re tail if poss and fit old style , hot at top cold at bottom ? again, thanks for any and all advice its appreciated , plumbing isnt my thing but so far all gone ok with your advice.
Only reason I cant(have nt) replace the 8mm pipes is they go through the wall behind boiler so with out major surgery it will be better to use them, failing that re drill wall and fit new 10mm if needed.

i have 8mm valves on mine but now there only available in 10mm and 15 so on the pipe you get the reducers that fit in the 10mm valve and drop to 8 on the pipe

So got the 90deg connectors I needed , but unfortuantly I got 1/2" bsp to 10mm, and what I need is1/2" bsp Fine to 10mm..and its not used these days.. so now with very tight room against wall I need to cut off olive from 8mm pipe , enabling me to put new 8mm nut and olive on , then go to 10mm. damn good job its staying mild
