Sorry guys - the ONLY place to get the best pork pies is Melton Mowbray near Leicester.

I have undertaken extensive sampling of the products (on your behalf) as supplied by Dickinson & Morris, trading out of their premises known as Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in the Main Street there.



The Stilton from around that area can't be beaten either, especially from the dairy at Long Clawson.

A pie has a closed top, agreed. A tart wears a short skirt & has jubious morals

My favourite pork pies come from Byfords butchers in Rayleigh, Essex. They make their own pork pies with layer of chicken and ham, then crunchy baked stuffing top. Fantastic!.

where about's are they in Rayleigh ton-up

Keeping things on topic for UKracer, The steak pies are good to often pick one up when i am passing. Half half hour on top of the heater in the workshop in a makeshift fire brick oven and they are ready.
Will have to try the stuffing topped pork pie now.

I go to the one in Rayleigh High Street, near Barclays. They have another in Eastwood Old Road, just off the a127.
