I was expecting this to be a debate about pies, or how can a pub call a pie a spoonful of casserole with a round of pasty on top. To me that not pie.

It's ok, I have told my poor old 92 year old mum you don't want a photo of her pie, the one she saved up all year to afford the mince for and the one she is making with her sore arthritic fingers, in the cold kitchen because fuel is too expensive, left her sobbing and probably ruined the old dears Xmas, she even said I would have made him one if he wanted...but that's her, will help anyone, I am sure she will recover...eventually...perhaps.

They're a bit funny about pies in Wigan; I knew a bloke from Wigan, he used to lie about where he was from and say he was from Warrington as he didn't like pies.

My favourite pork pies come from Byfords butchers in Rayleigh, Essex. They make their own pork pies with layer of chicken and ham, then crunchy baked stuffing top. Fantastic!
