Is that a hint of black roof i can see and with the grill could be a Mk 1 Copper or Cooper S?More photos and details of the Mini please.
Yes it's Australian built. Since it's an auto I believe the engine was imported, the manuals were manufactured locally.Nice, I do like a Ute!
Is that an Australian built Mini?
It's a metallic blue roof which isn't original. Is that a hint of black roof i can see and with the grill could be a Mk 1 Copper or Cooper S?
It's a 1968 Morris mini matic. 998 auto. Australian minis had wind up windows and used external door hinges until the end of production in 1978. Mokes were sold until 1982, after that there were no minis or mokes sold here.More photos and details of the Mini please.
Sorry, wasn't meant to be a quiz. I thought everyone would recognise it !Thanks.
Years ago I had an Austin 1300 (ADO16) auto with the same box. Always amazed me how they worked, and kept on working with dirty engine oil.Yes it's Australian built. Since it's an auto I believe the engine was imported, the manuals were manufactured locally.

Someone has at some stage replaced the roof by cutting halfway on the pillars. This has introduced rust and there's bad rust in the gutter areas. It's not mine and I refuse to fix it until all my own mini projects are done. I will only do it properly which requires pulling it off the road which the owner doesn't want.

Forward clutch failure.
I have rebuilt a couple of these transmissions. Not many people will touch them and there are many incorrect stories about them. Many people don't even realise they are four speed, they assume three or even two.
