i bought a aldi petrol hedgetrmmer which works perfectly but blimey the thing gets heavy when you use it a long time.
Yup. Worked as a landscape Gardner/assistant tree surgeon with my old man for years. Chainsaws hendgecutters disk cutters strimmers all stihl. He's probably still using them now.
As above Stihl have budget built gear at the lower end of the range to compete in the market place and its a bit fragile, unless you are buying top of the range Stihl dont expect too much. Maintenance on all this gear is important and the biggest difference you can make to the life expectancy of Stihl hedge cutters, pole saws and strimmers is to junk the grease plug and swap it for one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STIHL-he...369341?hash=item1ccbafa1bd:g:8CIAAOSwhh9bwgSL A few pumps of grease on a regular basis will prolong the life of the gearboxes tenfold. Before anyone asks its an oddball thread (11mm) and not something ready available hence the price.
