Queued for ages for petrol at my BP. As it got to my turn the ‘sorry out of fuel’ notice was slapped on. ARGHHHH!
Got home and fixed the puncture on my bike. Adjusted the gears, and now I’m going to cycle to work. That’s 9 miles each way. Guess I’ll deserve an extra Weetabix for breakfast now.
So what if everyone used less fuel and electricity and more pedal power. How will they recoup their tax? Can’t tax my Weetabix - I hope.

Topped up the tank again yesterday with E10 at 150.9 (was 147.9 the previous day)
Drove past it today 155.9

Taking mrs Robo for a hospital appt this morning and passed one doing 149.9 so may top the tank off on the way home, if there's any left

As far as I'm aware the refinery side has closed, most of the employees have been sacked off, pretty sure they used to refine 25% of the UKs dieselDidn't Humberside go bust but was rescued by Philips 66 ?

Philips 66 website says that they are still refining at Humberside.

I just posted in another thread, car service cost has had to be increased by £20 due to oil prices.I hadn't given it much thought previously, but I imagine engine oil will be shooting up in price soon too.

I'm currently running at £12:00 per litre as the chargeable figure to supply the oil and cover the waste oil disposal and that's half the price of some local garages.
It sometimes raise an eyebrow when I explain that if a customer supplies the oil they can either pay £6:00 a litre for disposal or take the old stuff away with them. Some seem to think that garages make this stuff up.

You may be able to burn it but I'm not, and there is literally nothing that's free for a company to dispose of and which doesn't require paperwork to show how/where/by who it was disposed.Waste oil can be burnt
I was buying oil at roughtly £2/L and free to dispose of at the tip, but currently I might save the waste engine oil for the big chainsaws. Used to consume it all as bike chain lube.. couple of big squirts each morning.
Is that like the "temporary" 70 mph speed limit applied last time there was a big oil crisis from the same area?Just had an email form SafetyKleen to say that they're adding a "temporary"£2:00 fuel surcharge for every service visit now. Just the first of a few such emails I expect.
