Nipped out this morning. Shell garage £129.9 for petrol and £133.9 for diesel, both about 3p up from a week ago. No queues.
1/2 mile down the road the BP garage £146.9 and 149.9 respectively. It's always been a bit dearer but they have strayed in to urine extraction territory.

I've asked VOSA because we had a farm Land Rover and they basically admitted change the fuel filter, drain the tank and by the time a couple of tanks have gone through its very unlikely to flag up. They said not to worry as it legitimately had red in at some point so if there were traces I was covered.
So if you've legitimately done it once and got paperwork to cover it and you don't get caught with a full tank in there you're likely to be able to plead ignorance.

There's a farmer in Somerset, a ham by the name of Simon, who has a very successful setup, generating methane from slurry and using it to power some gensets feeding the grid. Cost a lot to set up, but will be breaking even this year and profit from next year.
Got his finger in the biomass pie, too.
He's also doing a bit of solar, with the likelihood of expanding that a lot, iirc.
I know he's not the only one, not by a long way, so the idea has caught on, it's likely the initial investment that's held it back for a lot of farmers.

They said not to worry as it legitimately had red in at some point so if there were traces I was covered.
So if you've legitimately done it once and got paperwork to cover it and you don't get caught with a full tank in there you're likely to be able to plead ignorance.

30p a litre difference between petrol an diesel? There's no way they can justify that surely?

BP garages are always dearer than others. Usually 2 or 3 p a litre round here.

While we are all moaning about petrol and diesel going up a few pence, lets spare a thought for the poor people of Cuba. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST lets not turn it into one eh!
Because of the American action against Venezuela and I have my own thoughts about that having spent some considerable time there, there is no fuel making it's way to Cuba. Therefore, no flights in because they cannot get back out so no tourists and that is really all the islanders have. So poverty is really bad. Can't even get the rubbish collected as there is no fuel for the trucks. And we think we are hard done to.

The SHTF though if they take and analyze a sample and find it's 30% red when your paper work is six years old .
