In my early teens I used to use a hand stamp to hammer an X over the erroneous number II on all coins that passed through my hands....I grew out of it....eventually.As a republican I used to get a sneaky pleasure from putting the Queen's head in a gearbox......I'm running for cover.....!
I've seen 1p and 5p pieces used to blank off burst discs fitted to big water jetters rather than keep fitting the correct ones and correcting the problem. Costs a lot more to put a jetter right than the cheap penny fix
