A: The hole is off centre.
B: The Queens head is upside down.
I didn't drill it
I don't care it's upside down
What, you mean you left it there?
What kind of Yorkshireman are you?? Are you just visiting?![]()
I thought destroying legal tender was still an offence?
Lots of people use them in sculptures etc. and nothing is said about it. Chunko once asked about it and it is perfectly alright.
We used to turn bushes into blind bushes with assorted loose change. Seem to recall Tiger Cub gearbox needed one?
I agree it happens. I think its one of those old and odd things which are still on the statue books. Here is a quote from the royal mint mint
What are the rules for destroying coinage?
Under Section 10 of the 1971 Coinage Act - No person shall, except under the authority of a licence granted by the Treasury, melt down or break up any metal coin which is for the time being current in the United Kingdom or which, having been current, has at any time after 16th May 1969 ceased to be so.
Don't get me wrong I don't have a strong view on the topic I just thought its an interesting legal point.
There was a law regarding defacing coins, I believe it has been recently repealed
