Not common but does happen. Won't hurt to rule it out while its open.When I’ve had them go flat in the past all that’s happened is it reverted to default settings but still booted up ok.
I had one like that didn't turn the thing off for over 6 months as if it powered down you had to re-entre the date each time.Not common but does happen. Won't hurt to rule it out while its open.
Tower I've just got rid of ran for years with a flat battery.

My mate has a hate of computers and if they go wrong he just gets a new one and tells us his old pc had a RAM issue, Which means he tried to RAM it into a bin after he jumped up and down on it Basil Fawlty style.I fixed the last PC I had that was playing up, if you need more info let me know

Put a new card in and no differenceI reckon its the graphics card alright, happened to me a few times, but they are cheap and even i can swap them out.
