Aliexpress has got a pretty big selection of battery 'converters' so they fit different power tools.

I use makita batteries on my Stanley cordless drill via a converter.

There are some risks in using a battery converter but it is one I am willing to take.

Rather than starting another thread I thought I would post here.
Does anyone know if any other brands use the same batteries as the parkside 12v tools.
I would quite like a cordless ratchet for very infrequent use. Parkside do them in Germany but I have never seen them in the UK and seeing as I have a load of parkside 12v batteries I was wondering if there are any other brands that are compatible.

There's a French bloke selling the 3/8 12v Lidl ratchets no battery on flea Bay but it totals at over £90 with postage.
See them on the German lidl site and they quite cheap.

Have ended up, for various reasons, with different cordless platforms which needs simplified or converted and was wondering about battery adapters. Will leave milwaukee stuff well alone but what problems might occur with parkside batteries in a ryobi with a converter? Anyone using them?

id say most problem is the battery protection does not work eg gets to a level the unit will stop this dont happen with the converts as they only have pos and neg normaly also over heat protection again dont work

if its for small jobs or jobs where your not using all the time should be ok and if your used to the unit as it slows you know not to use it any more as it shows the battery is near its limit

So its the battery that's at risk then the tools will be ok. If that's the case a few extra batteries as backups for the Milwaukee would be handy after all, grease gun etc.

I know it's the case for the main players but parkside tools are made by loads of different manufacturers. For example There track saw is also sold in Screwfix as titan. So I wondered if there 12v range is sold under another name.

A lot of the tools that I have from lidl in the 20v range have grizzly tools written on them or in the manual.

Certainly has a better ring to it than Parkside which always feels it should be accompanied by a tin of ridiculously strong cider.

I think the cider is down another issle aisle unless your having a very lucky day and it's on special in the middle of lidl !

Bought the Lidl welding helmet this week. £35, though there are people selling them new on ebay for £30 too. Massively impressed so far, but maybe that's because it's such an improvement in my old SIP one. You can actually see when you're welding for one thing and the reaction time on the dimming on and off is instantaneous.
