No.I've got one of the old brass parrafin blow lamps somewhere in the deptgs of the shed, I've not managed to get it to light on the couple of occasions I've tried, would be nice to get it going, there's obviously some dark ritual needed to fire these up![]()
I'll attempt to rescue the devilish device from the chaos of the shed and give it another goNo.
If the pump washer is shoit get a new one.
At thge same time get a neede/jet cleaner.
Fill the tank 3/4 full of parrafin.
Fill the pre heater well with Meths.
Light the meths.
When the meths is almost burnt out, pump and play untill you get a blue flame.
Look back on my posts and you will see the fun I have had.
Mike at base camp will be able to help.I have this blowtorch still in its original box....
Just a bit dusty in need of a polish, maybe used once or twice but almost in mint condition.
Anyone know where I can get a seal/plunger kit???

There's always an interesting twist to some rebuilds, maybe the first test should be an outdoor test......You mean, like this?[warning.....don't try this at home, kids]

Too much pressure probably especially if it hadn't heated up properly, I had a paraffin blow torch when I was 15 and it would do the same sometimes, all of a sudden you would see a ball of flames kicked out of the shedView attachment 275782
That was unexpected.
I almost dropped my coffee.
Burning away very nicely, then woooooofplt.
I got one of them. You lot have a lot to answer for
