Temu.... god help me! If needs must...

I made the mistake of putting the temu app on my phone. It basically took over my phone and kept redirecting you to the app when generally surfing. It got deleted!

Aliexpress app is nearly as bad but you can put reins on it to control it.

All seals in Norwich are very helpful and often cheaper than elsewhere. As for honing the cylinder a mate of mine was a very good hydraulics engineer , he had a cylinder hone like the one pictured that he made a long extension ( I think he made several of different lengths) that he used to hone hydraulic cylinders. Use the hone with plenty of lubricant and just go up and down the cylinder with a slow speed drill

I've ordered a very cheap honing tool from AliExpress and will try some metric sized seals for a few pence each in the hope they will do. If that doesn't work, I'll weld on a couple of brackets so I can use the chain hoist. I'll update in a couple of weeks.

Yep, that's the plan regarding a long extension. I'll also make some plastic guides.

Metric sizes are readily available and cheap, typically less than a quid plus shipping!

I need a seal with an outer diameter of 1.5/8" (41.275 mm) and the nearest metric size I can find is 42 mm which I am assuming will not fit unless the compound is quite soft. The internal diameter isn't so important as I can easily modify the piston rod end.

Could these not be sourced from somewhere that still works in imperial measurements- like good old USA? Perhaps @Erie Fred could help?

I've bought some very close metric sizes in the hope they'll work. Only a few pence each and worth a try. I'll need to bush the centres but that's no problem. If they don't work, I'll try option B.
