Painting car interior…

I’m after some advice please, I’ve got to the stage in my car resto/mod where I need to deal with the interior (boot space also). I’ve removed the sound deadening and given the interior a couple of coats of epoxy 2k. The boot floor has had some repair patches.
As it’s getting a colour change, I’m not sure how to proceed, especially as I decided not to go the blasting route.

My plan was to scuff all surfaces including any remaining paint, 2k ep prime top coat and then sound deadening.

Also, the inside of the wings, bonnet, boot-lid and doors. They’re all in original white. Would it be ok to degrease, scuff, panel-wipe, tack-cloth and then top-coat them?

I really would like to get some gun-time in before deciding whether to spray the outside myself or farm it out to a professional (this is a budget project after all). If I decide to diy, I’ll be looking into hiring a booth for a day to give it a fighting chance

What you are proposing is what I would do.
Do the best job you can no the hidden bits and then decide what to do with the outside.
Can't beat practice to improve any skill.
Don't be afraid of it, what's the worst that can happen.
Are you going base coat and clear or DG?

Dg, I thought I’d stay away from metallics and pearls so I could spray doors and wings separately if need be

agree its fine to do as you say

ask questions if unsure , dont wade in and mess it up , unless youre paying big money you will most likley be more thorough than an average paint job at a bodyshop , theyre all on bonus to rush stuff through where you can spend hrs getting it right

Base coats (well standard BC) are a gift to spray, you don't need to worry about runs or a shiny finish.
Clear coat is where the trick is, but if you make a mistake to you can usually flat it out and go again as long as you don't rub through through to the base coat.
DG is pretty much the same to spray to as lacquer

Lacquer = clearcoat?
I did a bit of spraying a few years back when I moved back from UK. I was drawn in by an ad in the MCN for an 'opportunity' to be the master of your own domain, be your own boss, work the hours that suit you, ie. a franchise. After a weeks (!) training in all things smart repair, I was out on my own. I didn't have too many disasters, but I also didn't have enough successes to pay a mortgage and feed a growing family. Anyway, getting to the point, I do know a little bit about paint as regards small areas and I always did clear over base, but direct gloss is new to me. From what I can ascertain, it's applied similar to clearcoat, ie. semi-wet 1st coat followed by a heavier coat followed by wet flat and polish?

I'd say you are far further down the line than most of us were when we tackled our first respray.

Also, I fully agree with @steveo3002 you could certainly pay someone to do a far worse job than you would do yourself.
I really hate paying someone to do a crappy job, but if you know someone who is good, or highly recommended by someone you trust and you do all the prep to a standard they are happy with it's certainly an option. I would be worried if they didn’t want to do the final prep themselves because its all about the prep.
Having said that, getting someone good when you need the job done can be a lot harder and more expensive than you think.

I’m at roughly the same stage as you (have been for at least the last two years) and I do know someone very local who would do a far better job than I will, but where's the fun / learning in that?
