It was over solid paint so a good sanding with ~320grit.
Primer was the lechler epoxy primer mentioned on this thread. Sprayed with a 1.4 needle and iirc 3bar at the tanks outlet. 3 coats of this and left to dry for 2-3 days.
Dry coat and sand to get it nice and smooth - again with ~320 but I have ordered some 400-500's as well.
The basecoat was a nexa mixed colour, solvent based paint. Roughly 3 coats of this covered and gave an even colouring. With a final light dust coat to get the metallic flakes good.
Within an hour of the basecoat being laid down it was given 3 coats of U-Pol's 1K clear.
I switched to a 2.2 needle and 4bar for bc/c as my spray gun needs a good clean out, I obviously missed something when doing a quick flush through and is now clogged. I was worried about the size but actually found it no more difficult than the 1.4.
This has been drying for a good few days, I think a few more and it should be ready for a sand down and polish session. Will give it a little longer as I had to do a few touch ups where when turning round and handling I caught it in my haste to get it done.
The compressor is a 2.5hp 50L one, I bought it 2nd hand from a member of the car owners club along with a selection of guns, pipes etc.
