Imo yes it's a no no.Seriously, I have decent pipes, they're not old, but my flashback arrestors are expired since last year. Is this a serious no no?
They are not expensive there is no reason not to replace them but plenty of reason as to why you should. They put the dates on them for good reason.
You won't find a date on an OA torch but the regs and arresters etc have perishable parts inside. These are actually more likely to fail in hobby use than industrial because they don't get worked about to stay flexible. They can harden up and crack.
40 years is a long time bs they have done well but for the price of them is it worth hanging on to an item so far past it's exp date when you depend on that item to work properly in the event of a flash. Crazy putting such a small price against a potentially catastrophic event.
