I’m wondering if there’s anyone local on here who could cast an eye over your setupOne last question once I put the oxygen on it pops every 2 seconds exactly the same time every time I have tighten the tip up ats still doing this any idea why it’s doing this? It’s a obviously a brand new tip and torch cheers
I will get my uncle to come and have a look at as he is a welder but isn't very approachable. i might get a video of it and put it on here.

IIRC, any time the torch started popping after lighting up was down to dirt on the surface of the tip or in one of the nozzle holes. if you haven't already, get yourself a set of tip cleaners, am invaluable tool IMO.One last question once I put the oxygen on it pops every 2 seconds exactly the same time every time I have tighten the tip up ats still doing this any idea why it’s doing this? Seem to be loads of clips on You Tube, most of which show a correct lighting up process, but none too happy with one who switched the oxy off before the fuel gas . . . not the way I was taught. Spark lighters are the best way to go but there's always the option of turning on the fuel and striking a quick arc on a bit of scrap plate to light up. Handy if you're not a smoker and your spark lighter isn't to hand.Get a video of how you are setting up and lighting the torch.
Brand new setup, brand new nozzles. No dirt is causing that.IIRC, any time the torch started popping after lighting up was down to dirt on the surface of the tip or in one of the nozzle holes. if you haven't already, get yourself a set of tip cleaners, am invaluable tool IMO.

That seems to be the modern way. I was taught fuel on first, feed oxygen into it then reverse to shut down.IIRC, any time the torch started popping after lighting up was down to dirt on the surface of the tip or in one of the nozzle holes. if you haven't already, get yourself a set of tip cleaners, am invaluable tool IMO.

When was that out of interest? I would have been taught mid 90’s.Not the way that I was taught. Fuel on, light, O2 on, fuel off, O2 off.
