A few years back I was delivering to and collecting from White House Wind Farm, just past Kennacraig, and as I have various bits of paper that say I can wear a harness and do things which quite frankly would frighten the bejesus out of me, I was given a chance to climb up the inside of one of the turbines and admire the view from the top. I politely declined as I would have been a gibbering wreck and might have embarrassed myself .These havent lasted long, on the windfarm next to where the Oshkosh was delivering bits to.

Had to go into the "back entrance" of the wind farm via the B road that overlooks Arran and goes past the Claonaig ferry to Lochranza a couple of times and that was always mighty good fun , although driving an artic over the tiny wee bridge that spans Claonaig Water was definitely not for the fainthearted .
There is a pretty horrific story of two guys trapped on a wind turbine, when the generator caught fire. It was in Deltawind’s Piet de Wit wind farm in the Netherlands. It went up in a hell of a blaze, one guy jumped, the other burned up.A few years back I was delivering to and collecting from White House Wind Farm, just past Kennacraig, and as I have various bits of paper that say I can wear a harness and do things which quite frankly would frighten the bejesus out of me, I was given a chance to climb up the inside of one of the turbines and admire the view from the top. I delivered quite a few loads of steel pipe to Manchester airport and it was offloaded next to the fire training compound.I remember when Birmingham airport got 5 Oshkosh Striker appliances.
