There are a couple of pairs of DM4 for not a lot on EvilBay, they're pretty impressive for oversize "bookshelf" speakers.... Classic (70s) B&W sound terrific and can fill a room on a few watts, love 'em

I've a pair of little KEFs on the desk in the racket room, sound good as it's only about 10 x 8 foot (and my electronics bench has to fit in as well...!) and I'm up close, fine for working on a tune, but for a final check on mixes/"masters" it's on to the DM2s in the lounge where there's a bit more air to move...

I wired my surround sound system up with old 2.5 t&e because I had a load laying about, I put wall plates on to supply the speakers and used a short length of speaker wire to hook up. I'm very pleased with the results, it sound awesome, just need to finish the room off! The flying wire coming passed the amp is to the centre speaker, shortly to be mounted above the tv when I buy/make a shelf, then it will be pulled through the conduit behind the tv for a wireless look!

My two were trained at an early age Not To Mess With The Stereo - didn't stop Best Boy popping a speaker with Star Wars episode IV turned up as loud as it would go though! Perils of single-dadness, kids home a couple of hours on their own and even noisier neighbours (bloody students...

computer speakers are to stop me using the bigger ones that i have and ive popped a few speakers and broke a single glazed window with them before now

No the browsers in smart tvs are not very good, a small format PC behind the TV would be a better option. I have a load of i5 media players with trashed hard drives, they need a hard drive or solid state drive plus windows so probably not worth it but you are welcome to one if you want it.

I will see how many power supplies I managed to get, will probably be tomorrow before I get chance to sort through the van.
Edit: Linux and plex would be a good use for them. If I don't have power supplies I can get them when we are back to work because I have a wall of twelve screens and players that have to be changed. Now would be a perfect time, nice and quite but not allowed on site for the foreseeable.

If you have a Colchester lathe make sure whatever system you install goes up to at least 11 so it drowns out the noise
My old Triumph is very quiet and smooth even at max speed - which is only 1000rpm sadly!

Dare I mention Raspberry Pi plugged into the TV - shove Kodi Media Player on there and you can stream stuff online, put your music on it. All played through the TV and controllable from it's remote.
If you do that you can even setup your CCTV cameras to display on it (or at least have the ability to).

I can put a pair of speakers in the mancave, a pair in the machine room and a pair in the mancave extension. If the tv can be wired in to it so I can listen to the box in any of the three zones that would be great

Including the LGs which have the scart sticking out the back of the set which a right pain if you are using a slim line wall bracket.
Edit, can always try the headphone socket which usually sounds ok.
