What if you installed the lower curb, and in front of it use a slotted pipe drain (approx. 4" dia) or other drain product (grating) ?

Could do, perhaps maybe, but after a lot of searching and expense, I have bought the 15 off BN2.1's - so committed to my original plan.

True - now look at the photo's ....
Ground falls away from too and from the blue bricks - which doesn't help.

At my old house, the drive sloped down and unless I was in the right place my Mrs SLK used to scrape due to up the path and down the drive. Selling the car fixed it.
